We sometimes think of the art-sci cause as a recent phenomenon, but there were some courageous and enthusiastic pioneers. ASCI is at the top of the list. Founded in 1988 by Cynthia Panucci, and based in New York City, Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. was one of the first art-sci member organizations in the USA and has been a tireless promoter, organizer, and networking group.
